The humble beginnings of Sri Gunananda Social Service Foundation (SGSSF) started in December 2003 in the hamlet of Thammanawewa under the leadership of Rev S Gunannada. With the help of teachers, principals of Beraliheala schools and leading personalities in the area, the formal organisation was set up in July 2008, with the objective of helping people in the Lunugamvehera Agricultural Division by bringing about religious, educational, cultural and social cohesiveness and integration.
Using this platform, the foundation hopes to build a righteous society where people of all races and religions live in harmony as one people, helping each other in the challenges they face, by providing additional help especially in the field of children’s education.
